Fake products JSON for e-commerce demos

A shop page needs fake products JSON: names, prices, stock status and descriptions. Mockify creates a product list from a short description and gives you an endpoint to fetch it.

Why fake products JSON makes better demos

A product grid is mostly a layout problem. Titles are long, descriptions are short or very long, prices have two decimals, and some items are out of stock. A demo with five products named “Product 1” to “Product 5” looks unfinished, and it never shows these cases.

Realistic names, descriptions and prices also make your screenshots and client demos believable. You can see how the grid, the filters and the sort order behave with a full catalogue before the real one exists.

How to generate fake products JSON with Mockify

  1. Open the generator and press the Products template. It adds the fields id, name, description, price, in_stock, sku, image_url and created_at. You can edit or remove any of them.
  2. Set the number of products (up to 50). A language such as French or Spanish gives you product names in that language.
  3. Press Generate, then copy the JSON or the endpoint link.

Paste this prompt into the generator, or press the button to have it filled in for you:

Prompt
12 products for a coffee shop with id, name, description, price in USD, in_stock, sku and category

Example output

This example was written by hand to show the shape of the data. Your result will have different values.

Example output

    "name": "Ethiopian Single-Origin Beans, 250 g",
    "description": "Light roast with notes of citrus and jasmine.",
    "price": 14.9,
    "in_stock": true,
    "sku": "COF-ETH-250",
    "category": "Beans"
  },
  {
    "id": 2,
    "name": "Ceramic Pour-Over Dripper",
    "description": "A slow-brew dripper that fits cups and small carafes.",
    "price": 27,
    "in_stock": false,
    "sku": "EQP-DRP-001",
    "category": "Equipment"
  }
]

Show the products in your app

Prices are numbers, so you can sort and sum them directly. The image_url field is text that the AI makes up and may not point to a real image, so use a placeholder image in your demo. Replace YOUR_ID with the id from your own endpoint link.

fetch
const res = await fetch("https://www.mockify.online/api/mock/YOUR_ID");
const { data: products } = await res.json();

const cheapestFirst = [...products].sort((a, b) => a.price - b.price);

cheapestFirst.forEach((product) => {
  console.log(`${product.name} - $${product.price.toFixed(2)}`);
});

When to use something else

Fake products cannot be bought. There is no cart, no checkout and no stock count that changes, because the endpoint is read-only. Keep the cart in your own app state for the demo. When you build the real shop, take the products from your own database or catalogue. If you need real product photos, use your own images or a placeholder image service.
